The various standing committees of IMA Dombivli are - Grievance Redressal Committee, Dialogue Committee, Organ Donation Committee, Life Support Committee, Membership and Finance Committee, Cultural committee and Awards Committee. These committees actively work towards achieving their aims and objectives.
Grievance Redressal Committee is an important committee of IMA which helps to mediate, help and try to resolve complaints received from patients/relatives against any member of IMA Dombivli, with the consent of the member against whom complaint has been received. The purpose of such cell is to make available a platform for patients/relatives, where they can approach, to solve their problems/issues with doctors/institutions. IMA Dombivli publishes quarterly magazine ‘DIALOGUE’. Dialogue is a mouthpiece of IMA Dombivli having quarterly report of activities done by IMA Dombivli, announcement of upcoming events, academic articles, medicolegal articles, non-academic articles like poems / experiences / travelogue / short story etc.
India has very long waiting list of people awaiting Organ Transplant for survival but very few number of Organ Donations. It is our endeavour to increase awareness about Organ and Body Donation, so that we can encourage more people to opt for the same. In this context, IMA Dombivli regularly undertakes public awareness sessions on Organ and Body Donation for various sections of community through its’ Organ Donation Committee.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is an important method to improve the prognosis of patients with prehospital cardiac arrest (CA). Basic life support (BLS) is the first step in CPR and is usually performed by the first witness. However, the general population has poor BLS skills due to the lack of efficient and practical training strategy. Repeated and effective BLS training increase bystander’s confidence and willingness to perform BLS. IMA Dombivli takes regular workshops on teaching Life Support techniques to Lay people through its Life Support Committee.
Increasing membership strength is one of the key objectives of the association. Increasing fellowship and camaraderie amongst existing members is an integral part pf working of this committee. For doing various projects, financial support is needed, and hence this committee also works towards raising funds for the same.
Cultural Events are an integral part of various programs organized by IMA Dombivli. They provide an excellent platform for members to connect at a personal level. Involvement of family members in the Cultural activities is always invited, encouraged and appreciated.
Indian Medical Association, Dombivli gives annual awards to its members every year. IMA Dombivli awards are the ‘badge of honour’ that makes its recipient stand out and encourages others to work towards achieving it. Receiving an award boosts morale of the fraternity, encourages members to work with more zeal, and increases respect socially for individuals as well as for organisation & fraternity. It raises the bar of quality amongst fraternity members. For this, an Award committee consisting of Past Presidents and advisors is formed, which works towards choosing the right members annually for various awards category
